The best quote of the day so far "Look Mommy! I'm pretty!" Yes, baby-girl you are indeed! I love that she can make that statement with no question in her mind (by the way, she knows she's pretty even when she's not wearing a princess dress)! I don't look forward to the days when she feels insecure and doubts her beauty, I pray that she will have confidence and know everyday that she was crafted by the King!
It's funny how many times I thought "when I'm a parent I will never..." and now how I realize how little I knew & how judgemental I could be. One of my "I nevers" when we found out we were having a girl was I was very anti-princess...I didn't want "Princess" on baby clothes she wore, blankets, etc. I don't think I was against all things princess, but I just didn't like the general attitude that seemed to go with it-the "I'm entitled, because I am a princess" or "I'm unable or unwilling to do something because it's beneath a princess". Well, I have to admit, I am not anti-princess anymore (still anti-those attitudes) . I am now learning that being a princess is a great thing for my little girl and I can help teach her that princesses do things like: say please and thank-you, are kind and friendly, pick up their toys and treat their things nicely, and they are loving...
so today I am thankful to have a little girl who likes to be a princess...

Have you read the book "do princesses wear hiking boots?" It's cute. I don't like the entire message, but most of it is along the lines of what you just wrote. It sounds like something Pika might like too :)
