We're here! (kind of)

Our stuff is out of the uhaul thanks to some wonderful help of people helping us pack in Ventura and unload and carry up steps & into our new house here! (thank you so much to all of you who helped!) J did an amazing job backing the largest sized uhaul up a steep hill, navigating between trees too! I was sad when I realized I didn't get a picture of it. Thankfully the weather is nice, though a bit cold!

It has been a crazy few weeks...with just a few mishaps...

mishap #1:
As I was packing boxes one morning, it suddenly became very quiet (never a good sign around here) and our beautifully creative daughter had found a 90% full jar of silver glitter and had made the floor "pretty" by dumping the jar on the floor!











Our days have been a bit long...

Pika actually fell asleep while looking at a book
with the book open on her face!











mishap #2:
Pika & I followed J who was driving the uhaul. We had to put her seat behind the driver's side so I couldn't glance over my shoulder all the time to look at her. She loves to color and I wasn't really thinking clearly (I think it had something to do with an overexposure to cardboard boxes) and handed Pika (once again our beautifully creative daughter) her markers and notebook. It proceeded to get quiet and I turn around to see that she has colored her arms, cheeks, and jeans with pink marker! Thankfully it wiped off easily so we didn't meet new people with pink streaks all over her!




As you can tell, Pika is pretty tired but she has had such a great attitude! We have been telling her all week that we are going on a "special adventure". As we pulled off the highway onto the camp road Pika gets super excited saying "Look Mommy! Trees! The woods! How pretty! Good adventure mommy! Good adventure!"

We are looking forward to seeing what a good adventure it is indeed!
